Hiring National Sales Manager - Head Sales in India!!!



We are recruiting for one of our prestigious client. 
The Client is looking to hire a National Sales Manager who will head Sales in India. For the client, Sales is a "business development" type role and it is a 'direct sales' business in the sense our field force reaches out and meets customers directly (schools are our primary customers). About 80% of our revenues come from schools.
The existing senior Zonal Managers who are each 5-8 or more years in the client will report to him / her. Each of them manages their teams of 6-8 people i.e. a total direct sales force of about 50 team members selling our offerings, ASSET, Detailed Assessment and Mindspark to over 1200 schools across India and some other countries. In terms of scale, the company did about 30-32cr of revenue in 2012-13 and expects to do 36-37cr in 2013-14. About 90-95% of our revenue is domestic. 
Responsibilities in context of above:
Create and implement effective direct sales strategies and lead nationwide the team toward 
achievement of sales objectives. Provide supervision through field visits, observations and 
measurement of results through performance appraisals and regular feedback.
Build and manage the team who can obtain orders for the client offerings based on:
Understanding the challenges faced by the school in ensuring effective learning
Explaining, using sales collateral including videos and demos, how the client solutions can impact student learning
Helping Principals understand the importance of "deep, fundamental learning with understanding" as opposed to rote memorization
Carry out the following Functional responsibilitiesmarket forecast, design of sales organization, training, budgeting, compensation, territory and quota design, sales analysis, developing sales approach, customer service, order processing, credit and collection, promotion.
Handle the following Administrative responsibilitiesplanning, organizing, coordination, motivating, evaluation and control, communication.
Establish effective relationships and collaborations with other departments (Development and 
Delivery teams, Support and Implementation teams etc.) to address key business issues and 
opportunities.

Profile

We're ideally looking for someone with a bright academic background (IIM or similar), 10-15 years' 
field sales experience including having done direct sales and having led teams of at least 20-50 
people and at least 3 layers deep (self->reportees->reportees) so should have had experience in mentoring reportees on how to manage their teams.
Ideally someone in their mid to late 30s (this role involves >10 days a month of travel).
People from Banking, wealth management, IT backgrounds and perhaps Insurance, with bus dev experience, will be suitable for us.
